Yes, I would have expected that after the call back of those Chinese toys. Well, I had heard about the carelessness and lack of quality of the Chinese products even before , but I never could have imagined in my wildest dreams that the cheaper toys could cost some the babies life or health. That's too much of a price to pay for the little you get to save when buying Chinese toys. There should be a standard that needs to be satisfied before exporting any kind of products globally or perhaps there already is. Then how could it have happened in case of the Chinese toys ?

I am very suprised that the distributors in the United States and Europe does not have their own staff to inspect the children's toys. Most of us would assume that the government and distributors were looking out for our children's best interest- obviously not. The government really needs to take matters into their own hands and ensure that the products that are being shipped from overseas are actually safe for all.
